Charles N ENSOR Cinderford 1919 1945 Paratrooper RIP (General)

Charles Nephi Ensor was the son of Samuel George and Kate (Parry) Ensor, of Cinderford, Gloucestershire, he enlisted in the Gloucestershire Regiment and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Private Ensor successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Pte Ensor was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 26, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln, Germany and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 18 April 1947.
