As William CARD was a witness to the marriage of William METCALF and Mary CARD - 13 July 1827, William CARD was also a witness to the marriage of

Thomas DYKE (Widower) of this parish and Elizabeth CARD (widow) of this Parish - 15 February 1818

witnesses: Blanch GEORGE
William CARD

? Is Elizabeth CARD (Widow of a brother of William or his mother)

A2a (National Archives - seem to called up both Thomas DYKE and Elizabeth DYKE)

Will of Thomas (Grocer) 1833, proved 1835 and an Elizabeth (Spinster) - 1839 proved 1846.

Both these Wills are available from the National Archives

----

Both couples were married by Licence, these Licences could hold more clues.

On the 1861 Census in Whitchurch, Shropshire, Mary age 59 - says she was born in London City.

Have you checked for any CARD Wills, which could help? e.g. Will of William CARD 1816
