WELLOCK, emigrated to USA or Australia (General)

Is there any way to find out when William Henry Wellock emigrated from England (probably Liverpool) for either New York , U.S.A., or Australia?

I am guessing it would be between 1880 and 1884. I know this is asking a lot, but I am in hopes there is a way. I know family members came to New York later, and that was in May, 1884.

Thank you again, for the information you sent to me. Every little bit seems to fit into the puzzle.

You mentioned the Ellis Island website came up with a blank for your William Henry but I will list the URL here for the benefit of others. Also I've listed a couple of other sites that maybe of help.

Ellis Island New York is where most of the immigrants first arrived in America.

The Ellis Island site is wonderful, but Ellis Island as an immigration center only opened in 1892. Finding immigrants before that date is sometimes very difficult if you do not know where they settled in the US or where they might have applied for citizenship, if they ever did.
