Tuthill House, Lydney, Glos. (General)
I am trying to research the history of Tuthill House in Lydney. It stood on the hill opposite the Greyhound Inn. I belive it was demolised during the late 1950's, early 1960's.
My mother and her parents rented the house in the 1940-1950's. My mother believes it was a Manor House and that Gentry lived there. I would like to find out who. Where do I start my research.
Any little amount would be greatfully received.
Thank-you.
Linda.

I'm sure it was also used as a billet for Police Supt Shelswell during the Miners Strike in the 1920's {there is some confusion between Tuthill and Tutshill House - they may be distinct or the same - I'll do some more research :-) }
