William Henry WELLOCK, probably Cinderford

by Jane Phillips @, Tuesday, February 22, 2005, 03:27 (7248 days ago)

Hello.

I am seeking information on my Great Grandfather, William Henry Wellock, born in 1829 or 1830, in Bristol, England, i"ve been told. He married Susan Wyman and they lived in Gloucestershire, probably in Cinderford, where my Grandfather, George Wellock, was born in 1857.

The family came to America in the 1880's. Any information you may provide on William Henry Wellock - names of parents, his birthplace, occupation, etc., will be most greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance

Jane

Is there an 1880 or 1881 Census

by Jane Phillips @, Sunday, March 06, 2005, 06:19 (7235 days ago) @ slowhands

Is there an 1880 or 1881 Census for Gloucestershire (Cinderford)?

I am searching for a listing for William Henry Wellock (born in 1829 or 1830) and whatever information would be entered there concerning him. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

by Jane Phillips @, Saturday, March 12, 2005, 10:53 (7229 days ago) @ slowhands

The parents of William H. Wellock were James Wellock and Elizabeth (Harfield) Wellock, who were married 07 May, 1826, at Old Basing, Hampshire, England.

I am seeking the date and place of birth for James, as well as his occupation. How would I find this information? Any information would be most appreciated.

There have been people around Old Basing since the earliest times. Flints from the Stone Age were picked up at Wellock's Hill near The Lime Pits
