John BEACH/Sarah ? - any help please - Forest of Dean FHT Forum

I have a Christiana Beach baptised 20 September 1818 to a John Beach and Sarah ?.

Christiana had sisters Priscilla born 1811 and Mercy born 1814, and possibly others.

Christiana married Alfred Lewis in 1846 and I have all information from then goind forward.

I am stuck on who is Christana's mother is? On the IGI there is a marriage for a John Beach and a Sarah James in 1807 (which logically would be the couple as Priscilla was born 1811) but there is also a marriage in 1814 for a John Beach and a Sarah Thomas, now is this the same John Beach and a second marriage?

any ideas would be great to sort this out, so I can get further back on Christana's side. Christiana was my 3 x Great Grandmother.

I think that the 1807 marriage is most likely to the right one. As per the 1851 census which I think you must already have, you see that Sarah aged 70 is with her daughter Christianna and family. So approx. birth year of 1781 right?
There is a baptism in Bream for a Sarah JAMES (1807 marriage) 22 July 1781 daughter of Joseph and Sarah but th nearest baptism for Sarah THOMAS (1814 marriage) is also in Bream but on 6 Oct 1776 to Walter and (mothers name illegible). I think you would agree that this one is too early.

So, Sarah JAMES bap. 22 July 1781 Bream to Joseph and Sarah m. John Beach 2 Mar 1807 Newland.

Thanks Joanne, I am now convinced that Sarah James is the right one, I had a feeling she was but wanted to see what other people thought. Thanks for baptisms, that really helps.
