tithe maps and apportionments (General)
This is not the F.O.D, but I thought I would
post the tithe apportionments I have been photographing
for Monmouthshire, I did a few maps but had a
lot of problems due to the fact they are larger and
were laminated, so I could not get good quality
photos and a lot of reflection problems.
The tithes date from 1836 - 1844 and list all owners
and occupiers of lands and property in each parish
but would not list them for urban towns.
The apportionments are photocopies of originals so
not all that great, but it does give you some idea of
how valuable these particular resources are for your
family history.

tithe maps and apportionments
Brilliant resource. My family lived in Mitcheltroy most of 18th Century. My GGGrandfather was born there 1792 and died in Soudley FoD (now Dean Heritage Centre) 1857. I will read through the entries you have so kindly provided, although I think my lot had moved out before. Others should do so too. I think Monmouthshire was agricultural and many peole moved out either to FoD or East to industrial parts of South Wales for work.
