Ester Grindel (General)

by Jean Herbert, Leeds Yorkshire, (6633 days ago)

Ester Grindel was the illigitimate daughter of Mary Grindle(born abt 1810) (various spellings of surname). Ester was born 14 Aug 1831. I found Ester on the 1841 Census, living with her mother Mary and Mary's husband Charles Brain (born abt 1811). I can find no further census records of Ester but did find a death record of a Hester Grindle, who died age 19 in 1850. Ref P110 IN 1/2 page 19 Little Dean. Could anyone tell me if this is the correct death record or does anyone know what happened to Ester? Jean Herbert

Again Slowhands, many thanks. Any idea as to when the next census it to be released? I have heard many conflicting ideas but no-one seems to know for sure. Jean Herbert

Release of next census.

I signed a petition on line for the early release of the 1911 census, the reply from the government was to the effect that they saw no reason for it's early release-so 2011.

Hello Jean,

You are correct - Esther/Hester are the same person.

I have a copy of the actual death certificate. If you would like a copy, please contact me off-line and I will scan and send. Cause of death is listed as Scrofula, which research indicates is a Tuberculosis of the lymph glands.

Hester's Mother, Mary GRINDLE is a sister to my Great-Great Grandfather, William GRINDLE.

Sincerely,
