Tragic Death of Joseph EDWARDS a 7 year Old (General)

One of my Grandmothers young brothers was tragicaly killed when he was aged about seven. The rest of the family have never been told much about the accident which happened outside their home in Tidenham between 1915 and 1916.

We have been told that Joseph EDWARDS age 7 was killed by the Oil Man's Cart, there are thoughts that this was more likely a motor vehicle as it had to climb the hilly area of Tidenham. If this was the case, it would have been reported in the local newspapers, but as I do not live in that region I have no idea of which paper or where to go to look for a cutting of the report.

Any help or advice would be very welcome indeed.

Thank you

Hi Jim

I managed to get newspaper report from 1912 in 'The Forester'

http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=232093&command=newPage

Use this link and choose the paper you want. It seems a bit slow loading but keep with it. I telephoned the archive dept on the contact page of 'The Forester', but you may find info in some of the other papers listed too?

Good Luck

Simone
