James WALDEN 1755 Littledean s/o Jane
thanks slow hands
so let me clarify
james born in 1752 his father wasnt mented but the b was mentioned
& his mother was jane born 1732 ?
am i correct?
i have been told from the same person who e mailed me that it might be
possible that we descend from Lord Waldyng/waldong/waldening of Staunton which is near Monmouth.
but i cant find any connection as yet or lord walden of monmouth
James WALDEN 1755 Littledean s/o Jane
..all I can say is that these two entries are in the Littledean Parish registers and they would appear to "fit" - need more supporting evidence before you can claim them :-)
A family which took its name from the place but during the 13th and 14th centuries used the alternative surname of Walding held Staunton manor during the Middle Ages. Henry of Staunton, who held a Forest bailiwick in 1199, (fn. 2) was evidently lord of the manor, and in 1220 and 1223 manor and bailiwick were held by Philip of Bampton (fn. 3) during the minority of Henry's heir. (fn. 4)
From: 'Staunton', A History of the County of Gloucester: Volume 5: Bledisloe Hundred, St. Briavels Hundred, The Forest of Dean (1996), pp. 272-284. URL: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=23263. Date accessed: 30 October 2007.
The family of Walding, ... would appear to have been called Waldyng and de Staunton indiscriminately
So Walding, Waldin, Waldyn, Wildin, Walden would appear to be alternates, and Wildin certainly appears in the Forest.

Thomas WALDEN 1821
i cant find thomas after 1841 mind you tho think its miss spelt
but thanks for your help
Mary WALDEN (nee WHITE) 1819
Alice White Senior b 1791 (1871 census) was the mother of Issac White, Alice White junior b 1837, Grandaughter to head George White on the 1751 census, his wife Alice (mother of Issac) may have been staying elsewhere on the census night. By 1871 looks like George had died leaving his son as head of the unit. The 1841 census would tell you more about Alice juniors parents
