Jan 1832: A man, named William Brain, whilst working in a coalpit at Parkend, in the Forest of Dean, on Saturday last, was cautioned of the danger of a quantity of projecting coals, but he disregarded the advice and continued his work, till suddenly the whole mass fell on him: he was dreadfully crushed, and died in about three hours afterwards.
