Horatio Nelson HADDOCK 1811 New Weir thread (General)
http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=6708
Nelson visited the Forest in 1802 and uses Forest Oak in his ships.
Horatio Nelson had died in 1805 following the Battle of Trafalgar so easy to understand how the family took the name as a first name. I suspect over time young Nelson "took on" the full name of Englands hero :-)
wrt the other HADDOCKs in the Whitchurch / New Weir area - I'm 95% sure they are related
