Does anyone know if settlement orders for Newland 1680 1730 exist. If so where can they be viewed?

Many Thanks

Hi Thanks for tip.

My family (Jenkins) moved to Clearwell from Cowbridge/LLanblethian about 1695.

I am looking for additional information to confirm my research

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Hi Thanks for your help

The previous thread was posted by myself.

My data is based around wills obtained from Aberyswith plus family links with the Wyndham family of Clearwell/Somerdown (Glamorgan)

My research does not indicate when Evan Jenkins came to Clearwell, he married Anna Cooke at Newland in 1701. Evidence indicates that the Wyndham family bought Clowerwall manor from the Baynham family about 1695 being rebuilt between 1711 and 1715.

My family lived in the cottage attached to the rear of the Wyndham arms (reputed to be the original manor house) upto 1861 census, the barn at the rear of the property shows use as a stone cutters yard (the family trade)The family also owned the land on which the present village hall is built

I am trying to confirm the year Evan or his father came to Cleawell from Glamorganshire.

Any help appreciated

Kind Regards

Tony Jenkins
