The Grange Hotel at Minsterworth (General)
Has anyone photos of The Grange at Minsterworth, a hotel run by Mary Vining and demolished in the 1960s? Does anyone know exactly where it was? Thanks Pete

The Grange at Minsterworth was adjacent to the A48 road on the sraight between the Dinney and the dual carriageway,it had views accross the road to the River Severn about 50 yds away. The building was of red brick construction and was just past the Oakle St turning on the Gloucester side.I believe it was prone to flooding in winter and stood empty for some time before it was demolished.

WOW how fast was that,Maurice many thanks, all I need now is a photo of the building. Mary Vining was my wife's aunt and my wife used to help her in the school holidays. Pete

I think this may have been the same place my grandmother worked at sometime before 1923. I thought it was a private house then and I believe she was a ladies maid. I can remember seeing red brick walls which looked a bit like a walled garden when she showed it to me around ?1970. I don't remember seeing the house as such. I googled Minsterworth and just after Oakle Street went into street view, then clicked photos. The first picture that comes up is of the Severn bore, but in the background are red brick walls and an archway. I think this is the same place. If you do find out any more I would be interested!
This could be the same place as Duni House. See the following description www.victoriacountyhistory.ac.uk/.../Minsterworth
