Rosa Bella Morgan (1877) & Henry Griffiths (1874) (General)

by unknown, Thursday, December 01, 2011, 19:51 (4737 days ago)

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has any information on this couple.

I have found lot's of information on this couple (My 2x Great Grandparents), however I can't seen to find a marriage record - Once exists about the right time, however the groom is listed as a William Griffiths, not Henry.

The baptism records of the children of this couple show Henry as the Father.

Henry was born abt 1874, and Rosa Bella abt 1877.

If anyone has any information about them it would be a huge help, as I don't want to search further into the records without something a little more concrete.

Thanks in advance,

Ben Griffiths.

Henry Griffiths 1874-1950 was my grandfathers elder brother. Rosabella Sarah Morgan 1877-1966. I am this Griffiths family historian. E-mail me and I will send you Family Tree.

Don't know where you fit in. Are you son of David R or Kenneth J?

Roger

PS I have submitted photographs of Henry and Rosabella amongst others on this site. See Old Photographs - Soudley.

Hello Ben,

Roger Griffiths has just alerted me to your post regarding Henry & Rosa Bella Griffiths who are my Grandparents (Father's Side).

Both are buried together in Whitworth Cemetry, Swindon near to where two of their sons are also buried Cecil James and Archibald Clement (My Father)- Photos available if required.

I know that two of the previous posters here have extensive knowledge of what you are researching and between them they have a wealth of knowledge and I can add a few things as well.

We return to the house they built in Bradley Hill, FofD on an annual basis (pilgrimage!) where the present occupiers are so very helpful and friendly and have even attempted to restore the house back to a semi-original state from photos we have shared with them.

Speaking with Roger it would appear that you are probably from the German settlers side of things of which he has only scant details.

If you would care to email me at: ahg_1@hotmail.com I can offer you further information and even put you in direct contact with the main Griffiths family historians who are no longer domiciled in the FofD.

Best wishes
Andrew Griffiths

Hi Andrew, nice to meet you also!

I have received the tree from Roger, so I'll take a peek and fill in my blanks, and send you one back with the bits your missing.

Seems like our family has a thing for finding out it's roots!

My section of the family is based in both South Yorkshire, and Scarborough now. I'll pop you both over a more detailed email this evening.
