Boilermaker COWMEADOW's prior thread (General)
This is the era of the Great Western Railways. Around this time my x Grandad left rural Gloucestershire and worked for the GWR as a boilermaker working on the building of steam trains. Most of these boilermakers lost their hearing, as the noise was terrible, from banging in the rivets etc. This was explained to us at the GWR Museum in Swindon, Wiltshire.
