Hi
I have been using the Gloucestershire BMD indexes for FOD birth records but they appear to stop circa 1863. Is this when FOD became part of Monmouthshire or is it just the limit of current transcriptions?
Is there a similiar site available for post 1863 BMD's elsewhere?
Was the FOD ever considered to be part of Wales?
thanks Brian

You could email the Superintendent Registrar for Gloucestershire - the email link is on Gloucestershirebdm indexes front page under
'About the Indexes'
and the : 'Index Coverage'
shows which places have been completed - and FOD is still incomplete.

It's interesting to note that these indexes record marriages that took place under licence in some non-conformist chapels in the presence of a registrar or his deputy, as having taken place (should probably be considered as 'recorded at') the Register Office.
