I would be grateful if anyone could throw some light on this baptism record.

Mothers Surname
Residence (Reddings)

I thought that I had found all of William & Tryphena's children until this came up in a search last night. There are no burial records in 1871 for a baby and Wallace 1869 is the youngest child on the 1881 census.

It may be worth keeping in mind that not all children were baptised as infants. Some of my Virgo relatives, for instance, baptised a number of children at once, only one of whom was an infant.

Its a non-conformist baptism so it may be an older child.....

Thank you for the suggestions. I have to admit that, so far, I have not found baptism records for John 1851 and Thommos 1856 but, if the record is for one of them, it would be a large gap. 15 - 20 years.

John did not marry Sarah Yemm until 1874 so it is unlikely to be a case of having to be baptised before getting married.

I can find no records for Thommos, other than the 1861 census where he is living with William & Tryphena.

If the occupation of collier relates to the child he could easily be 15.

I have just looked at the register and this entry has just been partly completed and then deleted.

Thank you for your reply. I am presuming that you mean that you have looked at the actual parish register for East Dean Methodist; thank you for doing this.

Does this mean that the record does not exist, it should not be in the Parish Records and I can elimiate it from my research?

Yes I looked at the original register and yes you can eliminate it from your research.
