The visitation of the county of Gloucester, taken in the yea (General)

I was just able to download "The visitation of the county of Gloucester, taken in the year 1623" to my Kindle for free!
I am really excited about this. It does not have my Mutlow or Bate family but has quite a bit of BRAYNE information in it, as well as, other FOD families.
I am sure, many of you probably know about the online library, yet I thought the fact that I could get it downloaded for free to my Kindle was noteworthy enough to share!

Info Gratefully received :-)

It's a bit hard to follow on the Kindle. For any Brayne interests, that section begins on page 208 on the 'regular version and - "location" 7378 on my Kindle.
If you've got the time to slowly read through and you're away from your computer... the Kindle is the way to go. If you can sit at a computer or have a laptop to take on the run, you get a better format, ie better illustrations, etc.

Thank you for posting that, it is very interesting to find out what is available! Does anyone know if Ruardean was classed as Gloucestershire or Herefordshire in 1623?

I tried to do a search of the words "Dean" and "Ruardean" in this book but was not able.

I am not sure why Dean did not show up, unless you used quotes - then it would not. I searched by Forest and found that there are a few instances of the "Forest of Deane".
You may need to try various spellings or other words.

That was it... it didn't use the variation of spelling - just Dean and Ruardean... no "e' at the end and didn't think about using the word "Forest"! Smart thinking on your part! I don't know why I didn't think of it. :-)
