The reference here to "Blistors Cottage Newland" is interesting.

There are several links to Blistors Farm at Bream by way of photographs and commentary if you search "Blistors" on www.sungreen.co.uk. Bream used to be tied to Newland before becoming its own parish. I should think the cottage and the farm were on much the same plot. Googling "Bristors Newland" draws a blank except for the present thread. You may therefore be led to more about your ancestors and/or their landlords if you go after references to "Blistors Bream."

Roger Dennis in the sungreen commentaries has more information about Blistors. I lurk merely because he and I are distant cousins through being descended from the Pritchards who give the mutual Bristors connection.

If you can find a link between your Gardiners and those who worked at Lydney Docks, there's more to tell.
