Morgan-Clifford DNA (General)
My oldest documented ancestor is Thomas Morgan born about 1640, likely Newland, Gloucestershire (see pedigree on this site). His baptism and marriage are lost during the Civil War. However, I have indirect evidence that my paternal line could be that of the Morgans of Hurst (see pedigree on this site). Hurst is a manor near Lydney.
The Morgans of Hurst changed their name to Morgan-Clifford. I could confirm or disprove my postulate if I could compare the Y-DNA of a living male with the surname Morgan-Clifford with my own. Any candidates out there?
Chris Morgan
