Hello all,

I am currently researching my family tree and am finding things especially difficult on my Mums side of the family.

My Nanny, a Mary Elizabeth (Nee) Gifford was born in the Forest of Dean and lived in Pilowell. In fact in later years she named her home in South East London Pilowell.

Mary Elizabeth Gifford was the daughter of George Jones Gifford and Sarah Willetts, who would have thus been my great grand parents. My Nanna married in the Forest of Dean my Grandpa, Benjamin George Hilton in 1941.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me any stories about my families past? If anyone has any stories? And if there are any photographs that may be available for me to add to my family tree. I am also trying to discover why my Nanna and Grandpa moved to South London? (It's possible this was due to the War and my Grandpa being a serving soldier)?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.
