Parents on Marriage Registers c1815 ? (General)
Hi Dennis,
re the second part of your question, here's two c1815 Marriages "randomly" taken from the FoD PRs. As you can see neither of them have parent's details at all in this instance, altho of course it's not unheard of for the parent(s) of illegitimate children to be witnesses at their child's marriage (not that I'm saying this is the case here of course!). So, sadly I suspect for you, this backs up my experience that yes it's possible the parents are named but not by any means always the case.
Hopefully Slowhands will give us the benefit of his far greater experience in due course.
