Darby family (General)

by Mdarbycharles @, Tuesday, October 30, 2012, 21:08 (4402 days ago)

I hope you can help.

I'm trying to trace by family history. My search so far has led me to Chepstow and the cemetery. I went there today to see if I could find the grave of Ann Darby and Robert. But no success. Some of the graves have been weathered by time.

Who would have a record of where the graves are? I've Got a general outline of where in the cemetery they might be, area g, but finding the numbers on the burial records now don't correspond with the numbers on the grave.

Would I need to contact somebody in Monmouth council or gwent records to find the actual place or rough estimate where they might be?

Thanks very much

Thanks for all the help.

I went to the gwent records office and they had the old map for the cemetery.

It was on an amazing scroll, very interesting and I was able to make out where the plots might be.

I took photos but I'm not allowed to share them but if you need them pm me and I can send them to you.
