searching for John Lloyd (General)
I'm searching for my Great Grandfather, John Lloyd. Apparently he was born around 1860-1865 and lived in the Lea/May Hill area. Family legend has it that he was a bit eccentric and after falling out with his family went to live in a railway carriage (or perhaps a green shed?),somewhere near the Farmer's Boy Pub.He courted my Great Grandmother for several years and had a son by her(my Grandfather) but they never married as he was abit of a'ladies man' and she refused to marry him.Great Gran was living in Much Marcle or Putley at the time of my Grandfather's birth in 1899.I've searched loads of parish registers and the Census since 1861 to no avail, so maybe John Lloyd was not his full name, but his family are supposed to have been landowners in the May Hill area. Any information will be gratefully received!
