Davis family Speech House Cottages (General)
Can you please help ?
Dad - George Thornton Williams b.1917 now aged 95, had two elder brothers, Charlie b.1909 and Fred b.1907. They grew up at the cottages next to the Primitive Methodist Church in Church Road Cinderford, prior to moving to Belle Vue Road when he was about 12 years old.
Fred died a young man, (Dad can remember him being kicked by a horse in the head) and on a recent trip around the Forest, he mentioned that Fred fathered a child before he died and before he was married. The child - a girl, was born to Fred's fiance - Nellie (or Nelly) Davis (or Davies), who lived with her family in 'Speech House Cottages' - the one nearest Moseley Green. This cottage has been converted into holiday lets and now named 'Parkend Cottage'. (I am not sure which District Speech House Cottages would have been in back in the 1920's).
Dad thinks the girl grew up and went to live in America, but knows nothing of her name or her family as it was such a long time ago. The Williams family here would love to trace her or her family if at all possible. She would have probably been born in the early 20's.
Any help would be great

WILLIAMS/ANNETTS - 1911 Census
Thank you so much. I will inform Dad and see if it will jog his memory.
DAVIS/WILLIAMS Speech House Cottages
If you search birth registrations 1925 + or - 5 years and 1931 + or - 1 year for child DAVIS with mother's maiden name DAVIS in the Westbury on Severn and Monmouth Registration Districts, the two most likely Districts to register the birth, there are none.
Ditto on the chance that she may have been registered as WILLIAMS with mother's maiden name DAVIS.

Also checked as DAVIES with mother's maiden name DAVIES and WILLIAMS/DAVIES combination for the same period without positive result.
Slowhands, bear in mind that Frederick John Wynne WILLIAMS was born 1907 so he would have been 13 to 15 years of age at the time of the possibles suggested.

Fred was born in 1906, so 1920 births onwards are possibles - unlikely maybe but should not be ruled out :-)
Fred dies in 1930, his fiancee Nelly marries in 1932 - so I would expect a birth in the 1925 - 1929 timeframe, but would not rule out an earlier birth.
My suspicion is that the birth was registered away from the Forest, not uncommon for unmarried mothers to "go away" for the birth.
