Thomas WHATLEY Abenhall 1835 (General)
That looks like a possible sad story there, altho hopefully not as bad as I fear.
It was mention of Oystermouth that struck me as maybe odd ?. As Valleys students we spent some happy weekends at the Gower, a sparkling gem in the area of course, probably more so in those days of King Coal and the iron industry getting into full flow.
One wonders why a Marriage so far from their Forest homes. Were they taking the healthy sea air for Florence's poor health, or did they "elope" ?. Maybe it was a whirlwind holiday romance ?. Eitherway how sad it was to be so shortlived.
Maybe she passed-away so very young as a direct result of the childbirth and not some underlying condition.
So many interesting and occasionally moving aspects to this hobby.....
thanks for posting it.
