This ia a Cause instituted by Anne Harrison against Elms Edward Richard Harrison praying for a Judicial Separation by reason of Cruelty.

On the fifteenth of November instant a Citation was personally serve on the said Elms Edward Richard Harrison.

No appearance having been given on behalf of the said Elms Edward Richard Harrison the usual Affidavit has been made.

Counsel will be instructed to move the Right Honourable the Judge to decide in what way the above Cause is to be heard.

To the Judge Ordinary of Her Majesty's Court for Divorce and Matrimonial Causes.

The Fourth day of November 1858

The Petition of Anne Harrison of Buckholt Villa in the Parish of Cranham in the County of Gloucester

Showeth

First.

That on the Fourth day of January One Thousand eight hundred and thirty your Petition then Ann PEACH Spinster was lawfully married to Elms Edward Richard Harrison at the Parish Church of Abergavenny in the County of Monmouth.

Second.

That after her said marriage your Petitioner lived and cohabited with her said Husband at Blakeney in the Parish of Awre in the County of Gloucester and that your Petition and her said Husband have had no Issue of their said marriage.

Third.

That shortly after this said marriage the said Elms Edward Richard Harrison began to exhibit great violence of temper towards your Petition and thenceforth up to the time of her being compelled to quit his house in the Month of May One thousand eight hundred and forty four treated her with great cruelty: that the said Elms Edward Richard Harrison on divers occasions abused your Petition in violent and offensive langauge, dragged her out of bed, violently assaulted her and one onccasion struck her so violently upon her head with a ruler that she fell back in a chair stunned with the blow' and that by reason of the said Elms Edward Richard Harrison's said violence and ill treatment your Petition was kept in a constant state of anxiety and alarm and her healthy was maternally impaired.

Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that your Lordship will be pleased to decree that your Peititioner be judically separated from her said Husband the said Elms Edward Richard Harrison and that your Petitioner may have such further and other relief in the premises as to your Lordship may seem meet And Your Petition will even pray
