Is Hannah HERBERT 1785 Ruardean my Hannah ? (General)
Hi
I am looking for information on Hannah Herbert born 28 Aug 1785 in Reardean, Gloucester, England. Parents William Herbert and Hannah Yemm.
I am doing my family tree and have a direct ancestor named Hannah Herbert who married, lived, and died in Pembrokeshire Wales. I have approx birth date of 1784 for her but cannot find an exact date or place of birth, I have searched through other family trees and found one which says she may have been born in Gloucester, I would be grateful for any information anyone has on Hannah.
Thanks
Susie

Searching Hannah Herbert born "Gloster abt 1784"
Hi Susie, welcome to the forum.
Please can you advise what more you know about "your" Hannah, as on the face of it DownUnder's findings wrt Baptism & parents look entirely credible to me based on your opening statement which you then seem to contradict ?. No doubt this is a misunderstanding on my part.
Regarding the Herberts of Ruardean, this forum has two longterm researchers to this family who may well be able to guide you. If they don't answer this thread you may like to consider contacting them by direct email off the forum. See this prior thread and look for usernames "Jean Herbert" and maybe "jimashton".

Please also be reminded that Pemsbrokeshire is a long way out of this site's remit area.
Thanks in advance for helping us to help you,
atb Jeff.
PS have you tried searching the LDS aka Family Search website ?. It's free and has a huge database, a quick look gives five "possible" Hannah's born c1784 in the "Gloster" area, see the following; https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results#count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Aha...
Also see our neighbouring Monmouthshire.
https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results#count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Aha...
If I reset the filters to just show Wales results it gives some Pembrokeshire info too as well as more in Monmouthshire.

Searching Hannah Herbert born "Gloster abt 1784"
Hi
Hannah Herbert born 1784, married Phillip Hancock from Camrose Pembrokeshire on 11/08/1811 in Camrose, Pembrokeshire. She died 12/02/1874 in Sardis, Burton Parish, Pembrokeshire aged 90.
Phillip & Hannah Hancock are my 2nd Great Grandparents. They had 8 children all born and raised in Pembrokeshire. I have searched everywhere for an exact birthdate and place of birth and her parents, I think she was born in Pembrokeshire. I have searched the familysearch.org and roots web, ancestry, records offices, wills etc. and cannot find the info I am looking for, which is "who are her parents" and exact place of birth.
I have looked at the family trees on ancestry and found one which said Hannah was born in Ruardean in 1785, hence my question on this site, I thought she may have been born in Ruardean and then moved to Wales. The reply from DownUnder gave 2 possible marriages for Hannah in Gloucester and that's why I said that its a different Hannah.
Thanks for the links and to you and DownUnder for trying to help, most appreciated
Susie

Are you certain that Herbert was her surname at birth, and not the surname of a prior husband? I haven't researched the thread, and this may be a red herring, but it is something that occurred to me as a potential bump in the road.
Good luck and happy hunting.
