Hi Chris,
no doubt you've looked already but Ancestry FreeSearch seems to agree with FreeBMD which only shows this Death Record wrt year & age.

Surname Given Name Age District Volume Page Transcriber

Deaths Jun 1943

MASON Daniel 24 Swindon 5a 2 Kaehansen

=============

Please do you know if the Wiltshire area is correct for the crash location ?,
Was it an accident during training perhaps, rather than due to direct enemy action ?

If so perhaps you can help me better understand the subject of service Death Records during WW2 ?
I've come to the conclusion purely based on experience that the registration of Deaths as shown on FreeBMD etc does NOT include direct casualties of War ??
However presumably ?? in instances such as this, if the crash was an accident and not due to enemy action, would it have been treated as a Civil matter so recorded in the "usual" way HENCE on FreeBMD etc ?

Any thoughts gratefully recieved, thanks.
Jeff.

UPDATE ! Sorry hadnt seen MPG's post as I'm a slow typist ! Maybe my accident thery is correct ?

Hi MPG, please if possible could you advise what website you've seen, many thanks.
