Hello, I am creating a family tree and I have discovered my great great grandma, who's married name is Lily Agnes Marriner, lived in the Forest of Dean and was born in 1877. However, I cannot find anymore information about her such as a maiden name. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, my great great great grandfather Henry Rowell was born in 1827 in Leamsley Durham and so was his wife Sarah born in the north of England, However, their child Lilian was born in 1877 but in the Forest of Dean and then them and another 6 children moved back in the north east. In them times that is a long way to travel. In just wondering why they may have moved down south and back again? I would appreciate your help.

At least 5 of their children were born in the Forest
Best guess is that work brought him here around 1870, probably a skilled man supervising others

Some of the industries in the two places link, e.g. coal, iron steel, and there was also shipping traffic. I have found that people moved around for work far more often than one would expect.
