If I may be bold please can someone help to find a baptism for a child of
George Kear and Maria Darby, I've found three for Hannah 1838, Mary Ann 1841
and Charlotte in 1844, I believe that they had another child possibly a daughter
1848/50. Thank you for all your help.

George and Maria KEAR Brockweir -> Maryland
There are several family trees on Ancestry which seem to match the details and bear out emigration to Maryland in the mid 19thC. I can pass on more details if of interest.
George and Maria KEAR Brockweir -> Maryland
Thank you for the help and info, the Maria I have in my tree was born 1816 sister to my 3x great grandmother Ann Darby 1826 daughters of William and Hannah, I did pick up that they may have emigrated if you do have any info I would love to know what happened to them thanks for all your help.

You'll need to cross check with records,( as always with anyone else's research, including mine) however one Ancestry tree gives Maria's death as :-
1892 3 Jan Age: 74 Frostburg, Allegany, Maryland, United States
George's as:-
1894 25 Jun Age: 82 Frostburg, Allegany County, MD Buried: Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostbury, Allegany, Maryland

and travel from Bristol to New York arriving
1849 27 Jun
Age: 37 New York, New York Age: 38 (?)
and a Phillip born circa 1845 - would like to see the sources census / passenger list to confirm this

George and Maria KEAR Brockweir -> Maryland
One of the better cited trees gives the children as:-
Hannah 1838-1920
Charlotte 1843-1910
Phillip 1845
All born in Gloucestershire.
George William 1850-1930
Susan 1852
Louisa 1854
Isaac 1858
All born in Maryland.
Another tree gives date of arrival in New York as 27/06/1849 (New York Passenger Lists cited).
Not necessarily done all their homework though since they also cite George senior as living in Cheltenham in 1851 (with a different mother). Just possible I suppose, but something of a commute!
You will be able to see the root of these possible trees without being a member of Ancestry - just type the name and date of birth into the Public Member Trees search facility on the home page. To get any further will require roubles.
The owners of the trees can (theoretically, at least) be contacted once a sub is in place. Otherwise I could pass on an email address to them if you wanted.

I have also now found the incoming passenger list may be just the way I can see things but am unsure as to if the ancestry trees have the right George Kear as Phillip Kear appear on a 1851 cencus in Cheltenham when they had arrived 2 years previous, also looked really closely at the incoming passenger list if I'm not mistaken the children are all girls. I have found baptisms for who I think maybe the eldest 3 but the youngest La Howell I can't find or any info of her after they arrived in 1849

Always treat other research with caution - there is no substitute for doing your own and where possible taking in multiple sources

George and Maria KEAR Brockweir -> Maryland
Sorry I touched submit before I had finished, I am a member of Ancestry now so have been looking at the other trees, that's where I had seen the passenger list. Thanks so much for your help and leading me in the right direction. I would like your thoughts on the passenger list see what you think are they are girls?
Others from FOD in Frostburg
I have traced likely relatives of mine to Frostburg too.Eliza Vaughan/Vaugn born 1820 in Whitecroft, married William Bowen born 1816 Parkend, both died in 1896 in Frostburg. They had 14 children and emigrated to the USA at some point after they married and before they had their first child in 1841. They married in January 1840 (in both the C of E and R.C.) in Newland. One of their children married someone called Gunter, again likely to be from a Forest of Dean family. Eliza Vaughan is also likely to be related to people who married into the Kear family in the FoD.
Are these related to this family? If not was the community in Frostburg chiefly from the FoD? William is listed as a miner.
George and Maria KEAR Brockweir -> Maryland
Having looked at the passenger list there is not much doubt that (apart from G.Kear, of course) the other members of the family are marked as female. Bearing in mind the scribe's lettering and abbreviation habits I would have said the names might be:-
Ma = Maria ? (b 1821 by inference)
Hh = Hannah ? (b 1840)
My = Mary ? (b 1842)
Ce = Charlotte ? (b 1844)
La = Louisa ? (b 1849)
Question then would be is there a potential family originating in the Forest?
All I can offer is:-
Record 31454 Entry 908 for a Hannah
Record 31492 Entry 946 for a Mary
Record 115328 Entry 673 for a Charlotte
As for the 4th child? Born on the voyage?
I guess this is all a bit speculative but it might be possible.
