I am trying to trace the baptism of Richard Haynes born 1783. He gives his place of birth as Newent, but I have been unsuccessful in finding him in the Newent parish records. Are there some missing years in the Newent records?

Thank you for your input. It has certainly given me lots to take in and think about. All I have been aware of previously was the marriage of Richard Haynes to Esther Childe, which is the line I am descended from.
