Martin family in Cinderford (General)
Sometime ago, I posted a topic (2012) asking for any information on my grandfather, Charles Martin (wife, Dessie Martin, nee Embling) who lived in Cinderford (circa 1920) and had a butchers or grocers in High Street or nearby. My father, Astley (Ted) had a twin brother Ken, sister Daisy and older brother Charles. Any news or information on the family would be appreciated.

Hi Bryan and Mike,
too early to be the old post you mention, but hopefully this is of some help ?.

This find was a hit from a general websearch, always worth trying as you most probably know. From that search I also see the Mrs Martin(shopkeeper) in the thread is listed in the 1902 Kelly's Directory, see

PS Yep, I'm back, like the proverbial bad penny ;-)
Seriously tho it's very nice to visit the forum again, sincerely hope everyone's warm and well.

Hello,
I have joined this forum especially to answer your question. Yesterday I posted a postcard to eBay which I believe has connections to your family. On the postcard is written in pencil " DAISY MARTIN FLORIST 14 COMMERCIAL ST CINDERFORD GLOS. Prior "Charles Martin Master Butchers". I hope you see this before the auction closes .... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153606101407 I can keep a copy on my computer just email me.
