You should have no trouble parking in the road at Christchurch and Newland. At Christchurch you should also be able to park on the grass outside if necessary. If my memory is correct the graveyard is accessed through the church grounds. In Newland you can park outside the Ostrich pub (recommended for lunch) or in the road running round the churchyard past the almshouses. Hope that helps and you have a successful visit. Don't have detailed knowledge of Littledean church, I'm afraid.

Littledean church.

There is a lay-by next to the church at Littledean you can park there that's where I park when I visit the grave yard , I have family buried there but just to let you know they now have a new Cemetery at Littledean in Broad St you can walk up from the church or there is a car park in the lane next to the chip shop. Have a safe journey over and hope you find what your looking for.

You might want to visit the cemetary at Parkend, the vicar is lovely and is extremely knowledgable. They have coach trips to the church for geneologists and have a very good set up for historians with lots of information readily available. If you have relatives from Newland then you probablky have relatives in this cemetary.

BTW its the most beautiful place in the world, like stepping back a couple of centuries

I visited the Forest of Dean back in October, although my trip was from elsewhere in the UK, not from across the Atlantic!

I would just urge you to be careful walking around church graveyards - in my experience the ground can be quite uneven, the grass long, and you may find parts of broken stones half-buried. This is not to deter you at all, just to suggest you wear sensible footwear and don't rush around.

For the record, I was absolutely delighted to find the grave of my great-great grandfather and grandmother in Cinderford.
