James Beach (Beech) born 1816 (General)

by dodiebartlett @, Monday, June 15, 2015, 08:33 (3443 days ago)

I have been working on my family genealogy for three years. I have found every branch except for my Beach ancestors. So I'll put what I have and explain what I am looking for.

My grandmother, Elizabeth Louise Joregensen, was the granddaughter of Elizabeth Louise Beach. Elizabeth Beach is the daughter of James Edward Beach (born 1838 and went to America) born to Mary Howell and James Beach (baptized as Beech in 1816). We have this part of the family up to date and filled in. However, we cannot find his parents who are believed to be James Beach and Sylvia Williams nor who their parents were or any further back. Most of the family branches I have dated back to about 1066 of William the Conqueror. I cannot do that with Beach.

I am asking for any help that I can get. My family has been alone for many years not knowing any history, stories, etc. I also promised my grandmother I would finish what she started before she passed away in 2013. So if anyone can help me that would be great. Thank you for any assistance.

That would be the line that we need. We were able to get Sylvia and James. We couldn't get James's parents or anything else further back. Also slightly difficult when family was largely favorited on the first name of James. There was some speculation of James Beach and Elizabeth Hughes being the parents of James Beach that married Sylvia Williams but I wanted to be accurate before adding that to the tree.

If you use the Search Engine - (can't seem to do the link)

There are many previous forum messages/answers regarding the BEECH/BEACH inc the marriages of James BEACH to Silvia WILLIAMS going back quite a number of years (i.e 2010)

i.e. Location of Forest of Dean Records/Beach,Beech (Ancestry Search Website Guidance)

This link runs to 12 pages long and includes a letter : Craig in America

'My Beach Ancestors were not very original when it came to names.

As far back as I (with the help of others) has been the James BEACH 1745-1795, wife Elizabeth HUGHES - their son James born 1782 died ?? , wife Slyvia WILLIAMS - their son James 1816-1867 and wife Mary HOWELL (this is the one that had property)

Their son James moved to America in 1857 and died Lyons, Kansas 1917'

Aye. I have seen all of those and trails into information I already have or to members that are not in my family. The one named Craig I found out was a long distance cousin of mine. His research stopped at the James Beach (christened Beech) in 1816. I would like to go back further on the family if I can. I have the information on his parents (James Beach and Sylvia Williams) However, I do not have their birth years or even an approximate year to go by. I do not know anything about the family as that information was taken from us on the event of Elizabeth Louise Beach William's death (James Edward Beach's daughter).

Hello dodiebartlett, I've just seen your posting re: James Beach and Elizabeth Hughes, they were my 4x Gt grandparents.Their son James born 1782, married Sylvia Williams of English Bicknor on 6/2/1815 at Littledean.Their son Joseph Beach was my 2xgt grandfather.
I have information about Joseph, his wife Eliza Morgan and their family if you need it,but trying to get any further back from James and Elizabeth has been like banging my head against a brick wall !!
I have found a lot of info on this site about Sylvia Williams family, and Eliza Morgan but it seems our branch of the 'Beach tree' is determined to be awkward. You may find postings from a few years ago concerning Joseph and James Beach but then I used the name 'rheola'

I have had that same issue in regards of going back further than James and Elizabeth. I would love to get the information about Joseph. I descend from his brother James. So I can give you that information if you would want. if you would like I can give you my personal email so we can swap information. It is really great to talk to someone from the family. We have been kept in the dark for so long. So you can imagine our joy finding everyone.

My Monmouth Beach family probably has links back to The Forest, William Beach who married at Dixton 1791? was probably the son of William Beach born Milkwall 1744 who married Ann Benfield in Monmouth about 1760, but sadly there are gaps in recorded baptisms to confirm anything, plus marriages and baptisms with no parents or female spouse names. If you get back to pre 1800 you're doing pretty well, I got back to 1650 with one family line, it's good to have some Mormons in the family, they did the research over 100 years ago.
