Visiting the Forest (General)

Hi all
In a few weeks I will be visiting the Forest of Dean. A. to check out the area and B. to search for a few family graves.
I plan to visit the Churches at Bream and Viney Hill. Does anyone have any tips, or things I should know before visiting?
I also plan to visit Yorkley (family lived on Lydney Lane) Newland (family lived on Shop House Farm) and Lydney (I have an address, 6 Grove lane and Allastone Mense). Does anyone know about these places by chance? I don't expect to see my family name plastered over every house, but would like a feel for the area (if that makes sense).

The Memorial Inscriptions have recently been completed for Viney All Saints and Bream St James. Shap House Farm is in Yorkley and would have been in the old Newland Parish. Allastone is between Yorkley and Lydney. The MI,s are available at Glos Family History Centre and on CD.
