Hi,wonder if anyone can help please?I am looking for the parents of Joshua Simmonds,born in Frampton Cotterell.He married Margaret Chesker in 1760.They had a son,Samuel,born 1769(who married Betty Peake).
I have come to a dead end on tracing Joshua's parents and also those of Margaret Chesker.

Frampton Cotterell is outside the Forest of Dean and it does not fall within the area covered by Gloucestershire Family History Society. You would be best served by making contact with Bath and Avon FHS or placing an enquiry on Rootschat

Although Whitchurch records are on the Forest of Dean records - I can't see this baptism, but it is on the CLDS
Margaret CHESTER - christened 6 May 1746 - at Whitchurch, Shropshire - parents: Thomas & Margaret
As girls could marry at 14 and boys at 12 - this could be a possible.

I think the surname appears to be CHESTER on a number of other records from CD's - Fod has 60 records for this surname

Amongst others there is a Whitchurch just south of Bristol, a Whitchurch in Shropshire and a Whitchurch in Herefordshire. The Parish Records on this site are for the latter.
