PYCOX? Farm at Longhope (General)

by NElkins, Thursday, February 11, 2016, 15:20 (3202 days ago)

I have a 1920s record with what looks like Pycox Farm Longhope mentioned.
Please could I ask if anyone can confirm its existence and location at Longhope?

Hi NElkins,
just for future information, the searchbox at top R/H corner of Forum homepage enables us to word-search the forum posts over many years, so always a good starting point with any enquiry (yes I know I often forget..but still).
In this instance as Hawdon says, it produced this old thread.

The truly excellent Scottish Old maps site is useful here, this Map from 1924 shows Pycox farm, use mousewheel to zoom into R/H edge of map, halfway up, it's due North of my grandparent's old pub the Nags Head at Boxbush.

More maps of this area, but different Issues/yearss, can be accessed from the menu on right of this page. Similarly by clicking mouse-pointer on other blue boxes on the main map, we can find and load adjoining maps etc, such as Longhope village to the east etc.
