Marshwell House Yorkley Slade (General)
I'm posting this request again after a number of years in the hope that it may be seen by someone for the first time. I'm trying to track down a photograph of Marshwell House, Yorkley Slade, the home of my grandparents, George and Florence Hillier. The house stood on the far side of the Slade, backing on to the forest, on what is now known as Woodland Place. It was a substantial FOD stone cottage with a large garden, surrounded by a FOD stone wall, with a pigsty at the lower end. The Marshwell was a few yards away from the front gate. There is now a modern house on Woodland Place named Marshwell House, but this is not the one I am looking for, nor does it stand on the same site. The original Marshwell House was demolished in the 1970s and three bungalows now occupy its site. Many thanks if you can help. Christopher Dent
