There are 2 cemeteries operated by the Forest of Dean District Council and are situate at Mile End, near Coleford and Yew Tree Brake near Cinderford. Details which includes a link to a search facility can be found on their website at http://bit.ly/2x0mS8Q.

There is also a Cemetery at Coleford and records are held by Coleford Town Council.

We have as far as possible included them in the Parish Records database on this site.

Sorry for picking-up so late on this post, despite reading it the day it was first posted.
Please can you add any more information regarding this Coleford Cemetery ?. I hadn't realised until now that one of the seven chapel locations listed under Coleford in the PRs is actually named "Coleford Cemetery", which I presume is the one you refer to above. I now see from the PR section's home page that this Cemetery was being used from 1868 to 1948. Was it of any particular religious denomination, or was it attached to one of the Coleford churches, maybe as a later additional yard ?. Approximately where is it in Coleford ?

Many thanks, Jeff.

The cemetery is run by Coleford Town Council and is still in use. It is situated at the top of Victoria Road and you can get some further information by going to Resources/Documents and Articles/Miscellaneous Documents and downloading:
Coleford Cemetery Guide.pdf
Coleford Cemetery Plan.pdf
It is not linked to any Church or denomination.

Thanks Mike very much indeed.

That explains my being confused when reading that the Mile End Cemetery wasn't apparently intended for Coleford folk, when for many years I'd assumed it was. This was largely due to the FoD District Council website only mentioning two council cemeteries, Yew Tree Brake and Mile End.

I'll now go back and edit my incorrect post on this thread, thanks again, J.
