Residency - Forest- at baptism. (General)
Hi
I am exploring my Price Family (GG grandparents) Edward Price 1789 - 1857 (buried Bream) who married Mary Jones 1801 - 1875 from Bream. They married Oct 7 1824 in Newlands . I believe his parents were James Price 1766- ? and Susannah ? Elway.
I have found the baptism's of their six children in the Newlands Parish scans ( Ancestry) plus on the Parish records here.
James and Sussana (Susannah) married 31 Dec 1888 at Newlands.
1791 Oct 9th Esther daughter ofJames and Sussana.
1789 Sept 7th bap. Edward the son of James and Susanna. (GGG).
1799 or 1796 2 Oct. bap Jane dau. James & Susanna
1799 Jan 20 bap Thomas son James Susanah (sic).(Forest)
1803 May 30 Bap Nancy dau. James & Susannah.
1806 Mar 23 bap Susannah dau. James & Susannah. (Forest)
I am wondering what might I take from residence 'Forest', at the two baptism.
Having read about the poverty and living conditions in the Forest around that time can I assume that this family was living in make shift housing in the Forest or could it be living extra parochial and therefore conditions could be very slightly better.
The family had moved to Mill Hill by the 1841 census.
Many thanks
Gill
