Missing, presumed dead. (Inquests)
I have for some time been trying to locate burial records for my GGreat Grandfather which presumably occurred sometime between the 1861 and 1871 Census returns. I have chosen this period because he was included the 1861 Census for Lydney but at the time of the 1871 Census his wife was recorded as a widow. I have been unable to find any records of his burial and I am requesting if there are any records of people missing and declared dead. I know from my searches that there have been many people found dead in the River Severn and are buried as name unknown. So any advice would be appreciated.
Missing, presumed dead.
Hello tuthill,
Could you add his full name and year of birth please so that a reasonable search can be made.
Also have you considered the possibility that he may have been transported?
