Gregory Blaise. Stoned to Death in 1420 (General)

by sidtoomey01 @, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Thursday, May 28, 2020, 00:08 (1633 days ago)

I have read that Gregory Blaise is remembered in Local folk lore as being stoned to death in the year 1420 and is why the village is called Blaisdon.
Can anyone throw some light on this please ?

A Dictionary of British Place-Names has the origin of the name as:

Blaisdon Glos. Blechedon 1186. 'Hill of a man called Blaecci'.
