Marriage of Sarah HADDOCK to Job Lewis Newland 1826 (General)

by suebell51, Saturday, May 26, 2007, 22:38 (6386 days ago)

Can anyone please give me any information on the marriage of Sarah HADDOCK to Job Lewis on 28 Oct 1826 at Newland. Also married at Newland is William HADDOCK to Susannah Harris in 1830. I am wondering whether these Haddocks are from the same family.
Thanks in anticipation.

Are these the two HADDOCKS in 1841 and 1851 ?
at first glance there is a good chance they are related - brother 1802 /sister 1808 perhaps - the Whitchurch registers will probably help resolve this ... , <William H 1803 from LYDBROOK may be a cousin>

Thank you again slowhands. I am sure that Sarah Lewis (nee Haddock) and William Haddock are brother and sister although I have not been able to prove this yet. However, I have not been able to find the William Haddock, born abt 1802, Visitor, Lydney, Gloucester, on any Census after 1851, but I am sure he is probably a cousin.

Hello there Cousin Martha!

I noticed that Suebell didn't reply to your message which may be she has not been back to the site. I have emailed her direct and maybe we will soon be saying hello to a new Haddock cousin!

Best wishes

Hi Martha,

Can you help please? I have two Rawlins Haddock's in my family tree. The one was born in 1754 in Aberafon Glamorgan Wales, who I believe married an Elizabeth Williams. The other Rawlins was his nephew born in 1795 also in Aberafon Glamorgan, Wales. I was wondering if you knew where your Rawlins Haddock the father of Sarah was born.

Hello Martha, I have only just returned to the forum after a bit of an absence and read your posting with interest. I am trying to find a connection between your Sarah Haddock (1808) and my Joseph Haddock chr. 28 Aug 1785 at Clydach Swansea, father Rowling/Rawling Haddock of Llangyfelach (Swansea).

My Joseph Haddock resided in English Bicknor where two of his sons were baptised. Joseph on 23 Apr 1815 and Rawlings on 1 Jun 1817. When Joseph Jnr married in Staunton in 1838 one witness was Nelson Haddock (full name Horatio Nelson Haddock). In 1841 at Lydbrook, Nelson Haddock was with William Haddock and his family who lived next door to Sarah (Haddock) and Job Lewis and their family so I think there must be a connection.

Hi Ivan, I do have some information on Horatio Nelson Haddock. From his wedding certificate I know that his father was Rawlings Haddock, Labourer. He and Jane James, formerly Davies, were married by Banns on 15 July 1843 at English Bicknor. Jane had a son John (born 20 Dec 1836, chr. 29 Jan 1837 at English Bicknor) with her first husband John James, Wheelwright.

I am trying to establish what the relationship was between Horatio Nelson Haddock and my Joseph Haddock, chr. 23 Apr 1815 at English Bicknor, father Joseph Haddock, mother Mary. Nelson Haddock was a witness when Joseph Haddock Jnr. married Harriet Pritchard in 1838 at Staunton. I know that Joseph Haddock
Senior was chr. 28 Aug 1785 at Llangyfelch/Clydach, Swansea and his father's name was Rawlins (William) Haddock and his mother Elizabeth Williams.
