Have you obtained a copy of his Will, which is listed on the Gloucestershire Records Office database? Sometimes this gives clues to relatives in other area.

Chris

I've recently acquired copies of a Marriage and Banns from the Gloucestershire Records Office.

On their web site they have telephone/fax/email address

They sent me a form to fill in via email - I printed off this form - filled it in - and scanned back to them plus their required fee (minimum charge £5) - The copies were sent by post and came within 10 days.

I did see on FOD that a William TYLEY (could be FOLEY) married Hannah GRIFFIN 10.4.1785 in Awre - and Edward TURLEY (could be FARLEY) who married Sarah HAWKINS 4.3.1783 in Awre (they children are listed as TIRLEY) - may be a connection.

Hope this helps.

I have been doing most of my researching so far via Ancetry.com and have too come to a dead end with the Edward\\Sarah partnership. Any info you would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated.

PS: Also all turleys in the FOD area date back to this edward, only record i can find off IGI states edward born 1758 to Bridget Turley, i can only assume at this point this is the edward as he would be the only edward born in the 1750's without a death record in staffordshire, all others died quite young...cris

Hi Chris

I noted that James Turley Marriage 1803 reference 12207 has a residence of Martley, Worchestershire in the parish records that may be a lead. I have tried to locate in ancestry but with no luck. As you may have more luck.
I agree from my research the Turley and most of the Blakeney hill area are related over a period of time.
Am I right in thinking that you are Audrey's and Ivor's son?? We met when I visited in 2006.

Hi there, no not ivors son malcolm and avril, grandson of late kate turley of blakeney hill. Sorry for the delayed response thanks for the info on the worcestershire connection. I have just recieved the copy of Edward Turley (1751-1842)last will from the records office unfortunately it does not state a birthplace, however does confirm a number of his children. anyone who wants to see the copy feel free to contact me. Does anyone know much of the FOD history specifically when blakeney/viney hill was settled was it around the 1750's or are the towns much older than that? Regards, Cris Turley

Edward TURLEY 1751-1842 Blakeney Stone Mason

by cturley, Sunday, January 25, 2009, 10:28 (5852 days ago) @ slowhands

Thanks again "Slowhands" By trial and error and eliminating all the possibilities of edward turleys 1745-1765 on IGI I think ive come to the conclusion now that this edward is the one: born 1758 Sedgley, stafford. to Bridget Turley. All the others seem to have death and marriage records on file in staffordshire, this was the only one left and the birth year closely matches the 1841 census. possibly a transcribing mistake on FOD stating he died age 91?
