Someone just told me about this website - http://www.geograph.org.uk/ - which has an amazing range of photos from all over the UK, including FOD, plus map references etc.

Addictive and potentially very useful for ancestors' abodes.

Only just had a good look at this site after coming across it again with regards to Drybrook Quarry and I agree there is an amazing range of photos.

For people like my self who very rarely have the opportunity to get to the Forest, I can for instance enter Ruardean in the seach box and view hundreds of recent photos of the places of where my ancestors would once have walked by.
