Photos of Cinderford (General)
Hi
I am new to this amazing site and have just been browsing the photo gallery
When I was young my family lodged upstairs at No 5 Woodside St in Cinderford (1951-1953) while our house in Coleford was being built and there are photos of Woodside St on the site which brought back memories
I have a few recollections but no pictures, all I remember was an iron railing along the front of the two storey house and it was very close to a bus stop
I'm wondering if anyone who still lives in the area might know whether No 5 is visible on one of the pictures and also if it still exists?
Thanks
SCALL

Hi Scall
Regarding no 5 Woodside Street, there used to be bus stops all the way up Woodside Street past the old Post Office in the 50,s and I remember, as a young lad, because we had no car, spending much time waiting there for the various Red and White buses also the odd Cottrell bus to come along.
As for No 5 itself, even though I moved to warmer climes 10 years ago, I still have friends in Woodside street who may be able to take a general photograph for you.

Hi Dave
Great to find that someone else used to live in the area
Just looking at all the pictures on the site was a trip down memory lane
If you have friends who could take me a picture of No 5, I would be very happy
indeed to receive it and many thanks

Hi slowhands
Thanks for reply and I have now googled the address and it's quite amazing to be able to see an aerial shot and it helped me to identify the house in some of the photos on the site. I see that you have contributed a lot of them and it's wonderful that they are available for other users to see.
I also googled our old address in Coleford and that house also happens to be still there
Thanks
