I am trying to trace a James Button c 1796 born in Kilmersdon and his wife Mary c 1792/6 also of Kilmersdon.

I believe James had a brother George (Battin 1841census) b Bitton.

In the 1861 census Joseph Batten (Georges son) is living at the Kings Arms in Publow with his family with his aunt Mary (James wife)who appears to be widdowed.

Kilmersdon is a bit outside the scope of this Board, I'm afraid, save where Somerset miners come over to the Forest seeking work :-)
