Offspring of Willliam & Elizabeth Adams m 1900 Parkend (General)

by corinne Brindle, Thursday, November 20, 2008, 09:07 (5919 days ago)

I am really keen to find any baptismal/birth record of children of this couple especially eldest child (my mother). Have searched for two years - perhaps this site will come up trumps.

Many thanks

Willliam ADAMS & Elizabeth NASH Parkend

by corinne Brindle, Friday, November 21, 2008, 08:42 (5918 days ago) @ slowhands

Thank you very much - yes that is the marriage. That is as far as I can get. Why is there no record of their first daughter my mother I wonder. She was born August 3rd either 1902 or 1903. I suppose that people got away without registering births occasionally?

Anyway it was good to have a response.
Regards

Thank you very much - it is good that there are such helpful people around. The Dorothy Kate record is a bit strange - I do not think that is their child unless she died. I had never heard mention of her in the family. My mother's name was Kathleen Dean but altho the initials are the same (reversed) it cannot be her as her birthday was August 3 either 1902 or 1903. The other record is her sister - the name was Ivy May but Lucy is a transcription error I guess. I keep hoping!

Again my thanks

Nearly a year ago in the search for my mother - kathleen Dean Adams you kindly found someone called Dorothy Kate Adams who had the right parentage. I replied that could not be her because of the wrong Christian names. I now discover that in fact that was her and for some reason before her marriage in 1934 she changed her Christian names from D Kate to K Dean. I wonder how that could be done? Anyway many thanks for getting the answer for me even if I did not recognise it at the time.
